Audit & Assurance

Internal Audit in Bangladesh

The word audit derives from the Latin audire, meaning to listen and to inform. Internal audit applies that principle from within the organisation: an independent, ongoing evaluation of operations, risk management, internal controls and governance processes. FM Consulting International's internal audit service is designed to add value, strengthen operations and give management an objective, unbiased view of how well the business is being run and protected.

Scope of our internal audit

Our internal auditors examine compliance with regulations and internal procedures, carry out transaction audits, and investigate suspected fraud. We assess organisational efficiency and operational effectiveness, measure risk across the enterprise, and evaluate whether controls are well designed and working as intended.

The service is aligned with the regulatory framework of the country, observing the specific rules that govern different sectors as well as national accounting and tax requirements.

Methodology

Each engagement begins with a structured risk assessment and a written audit programme. We then perform detailed work — matching transactions, conducting physical inventory counts and undertaking reconciliations — before issuing a formal report. We track the implementation of our recommendations through follow-up reviews so that improvements are actually delivered.
