Fund Audit in Bangladesh

A fund audit is the independent examination of the financial statements and records of an investment or employee fund. Its purpose is to verify the underlying data, protect the reliability of the information reported and correct any misconceptions about the fund's position. FM Consulting International audits the principal employee funds maintained by organisations in Bangladesh, drawing on a multi-disciplinary team of in-house specialists with expertise across expense, financial reporting, internal controls, portfolio valuation and investment banking advisory.

What we review

Our auditors verify the accuracy of the fund's records, examine compliance with applicable laws and regulations, compute taxes and confirm they are paid on time, and inspect the accounting systems for efficiency. We also help organise and present the fund's financial records clearly. The depth of each engagement varies with the type and complexity of the fund under review.

Types of fund audit

We audit the three main employee funds operated in Bangladesh: the provident fund, which accumulates savings for employees over their service; the gratuity fund, which provides a lump-sum benefit on retirement or separation; and the Workers' Profit Participation Fund (WPPF), through which workers share in company profits. On completion we issue either an unqualified opinion, where no material misstatements are found, or a qualified opinion that identifies the matters of disagreement.
